MK11 Liu Kang's tag-in attack does power steal. His krushing blow on his special attack 1 inflicts Shield Break. His special attack 2 also grants him Strengthen after reaching 90% or above damage on both of its minigames. Use these to have the high ground in battles.

- MK11 Characters.
- Triborg/Sektor: Liu Kang receives Fire damage boost from Triborg.
- Scorpion/Hellspawn & Kung Jin/Shaolin: Liu Kang can start match with extra power with these characters.
- Kung Jin/Standard & Bo' Rai Cho/Dragon Breath: Liu Kang gains extra critical hit rate from these characters.
- Equipments with effects on unblockable attacks such as Jax's Brutality set and Shintai of Revenge.
Good Against[]
- Blind debuff. Especially from Jade/Klassic and opponents with Famous Fashion Dominator, Movie Set Star and Wicked Sister's Sultry Gown equipment.
- Jade/Assassin, Jason Voorhees/Nightmare, Erron Black with Varmint’s Ace in the Hole equipment, Varan Jacket, Dark Mantle and Craftsman's Pride equipments: These characters and equipment pieces are unable to evade combo enders and special attacks from Liu Kang and his MK11 teammates for 15 seconds after their tag-in.
- Kenshi/Ronin: Liu Kang's unblockable chance passive makes Kenshi unable to trigger his passive more.

- Snare: Snaring Liu Kang or his teammates prevent them from tagging and activate Liu Kang's passive fently.
- Kenshi/Ronin & Combat Shotgun: Both the character and equipment piece deal more damage against Martial Artists, including Liu Kang.
- Kenshi/Elder God, Kitana/Assassin and Scorpion/Hellspawn: All of these characters are immune to the Critical attacks with Elder God Kenshi spreading this immunity to Elder God teammates.
- Raiden/Dark: Liu Kang's tag-in attack has power steal in it, making Raiden able to gain power from it too.
- Shadow Sash, Frost Mask, Body of Steel and Craftsman's Pride equipments: These equipments reduce unblockable chances, which makes Liu Kang's passive less effective.
