Strategy

Monk is pretty useful for getting X-Ray attacks for gold/diamond characters who normally finds it troublesome to obtain as power generation suddenly dampens greatly upon gaining enough power for their second special attack. However, this does not affect silver characters. Furthermore, he can be devastating even to teams with 3 gold characters by pairing him with a piece of basic damage boosting equipment, Kung Lao/Shaolin Master for the +300% boost to all stats (except power gain), and with Scorpion/Ninjutsu for further +30% damage boost alongside activating his unblockable first special attack to decimate them. Also, when he dies, he will give 1 bar of power to remaining teammates to finish the enemy team with a killing blow.

Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Monk. Having a card that "counters" Monk does not mean it is always a good choice.
