Strategy[]
Rain has grapple on both SP1 and SP2, giving him an inherent advantage in many situations. His passive allows him to quickly apply Soaked to the enemy team, suppressing the enemy team continuously and enabling his devastating lightning attacks to take effect. Your main goal with Rain is to apply Soaked to the entire enemy team as soon as possible; it is suggested to use his Low Tide attack as much as possible in order to achieve this.
Interactions[]
Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Rain. Having a card that "counters" Rain does not mean it is always a good choice.
Good With[]
- Edenian Blood Characters.
- Outworld Characters, especially those with multi-hit combo enders such as Erron Black/Black Dragon and Baraka/Scourge.
- Characters who can do Lightning attacks.
Good Against[]
- Jade/Assassin, Quan Chi/Circle of Shadow, Jason Voorhees/Nightmare & Skarlet/Kold War: They can take damage from lightning attacks if they are Soaked and tagged out.
- Kenshi/Ronin, Noob Saibot/MK11, Kintaro/Shokan Warrior & Jax Briggs/Klassic: Part of these characters' passive relies on blocking special attacks, which Rain's grapple on his SP1 can counter that.
Countered By[]
- D'Vorah/Prime & Kitana/Day of the Dead: These cards are immune to bleed.
- Kitana/Circle of Shadow: Kitana and her Circle of Shadow teammates are immune to Fear.
- Jade/MK11 & Raiden/Dark: These cards heal from bleeding instead of taking damage, with MK11 Jade spreading this immunity to MK11 Teammates.
- Liu Kang/Klassic: Liu Kang gets critical chance boost from bleeding.
- Mileena/Piercing: Mileena gets a bar of power from bleeding.
Abilities[]
Here are Rain's abilities.
Ability | Classification | Description | Usage |
---|---|---|---|
Tidal Might | Passive | Edenian Blood Rain gains Tidal Might over time of every opponent affected by Soaked. Tidal Might empowers his Special Attacks and deals additional damage by lightning.
Rain can use his extra attack Low Tide to apply Fear and Soaked for 20 seconds. He can also apply Soaked for 7 seconds on one of his Basic Combos. Low Tide has an 8-second cooldown. Rain assists his Outworld teammates with a lightning striker on their combo enders. For each Edenian Blood teammate, Low Tide's cooldown is reduced by 1 second. |
