Strategy[]

Klassic Reptile is easily the best Reptile found in the game. He is intended to use as a support for the team, due to his passive that acts anytime in the match, he can be used as an attacker due to his fast basic attacks and decent specials (SP2 is unblockable). It is mandatory to use with him any partners that can deal Poison, or include Reptile in any team consisting of Poison dealers, specially if they're from Outworld class. Klassic Reptile is unique because it deals DOT even when he is knocked out, and makes his partners immune to poison, while his X-Ray attack regenerates the health of him and his teammates.

Klassic Reptile has a hidden ability to stack his poisons, instead of overriding existing ones. Because of that, Reptile can deal massive DOT damage to the enemies with multiple ways to apply poison: enemy tag-in, his SP1, SP2 and equipment. Reptile is probably the best poison user, as well as one of the most powerful DOT characters in the game.

Like Shao Kahn/Konquerer, Reptile can be obtained for free. In Reptile's case you have to collect enough Reptile eyes to fight him in Quest Mode on The Pit.

Interactions[]

Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Reptile. Having a card that "counters" Reptile does not mean it is always a good choice.

Good with[]

  • Outworld Characters: especially with characters like Mileena/Ravenous or Reptile/Noxious that boost Poison DOTs.
  • D'Vorah/Venomous & D'Vorah/Wretch: Reptile doubles D'Vorah's poison because of his passive that deals poison anytime a character tags in. Also, Reptile's critical attack chance and D'Vorah's crit damage increase against poisoned enemies make them great teammates.
  • Characters that can force the opponent to tag in such as Tremor/Aftershock or Scorpion/Klassic as doing so would have a chance to trigger Reptile's poison.
  • Reptile’s Acid Dragon Brutality Set: Reptile can be more dangerous once he is equipped with his Acid Dragon’s Deathly Vial and Tekko-Kagi. Deathly Vial gives Reptile 10-20% power generation, 40-70% Chance to gain 7% max power for teammates whenever the opponent is poisoned as well as healing from 20% basic attack damage against poisoned opponents. At Fusion X, Deathly Vial also gives Reptile an automatic Power Steal when targeted by Power Drain. Tekko-Kagi gives Reptile increased damage against poisoned enemies, chance to Blind an opponent on Special 1 and at Fusion X, 100% critical damage boost for 5 seconds when a blinded opponent misses attacks.
  • Kabal's Nomad Brutality Set: Reptile can benefit from the Poison effects offered from Kabal's Nomad's Buzzsaw and Deadly Vapors.
  • Serpent Kusarigama: Reptile has a 30-50% chance to gain Speed for 5 seconds on his Kombo ender and at 40% health, he gains 50-100% critical chance. At Fusion X, critical hits have a 70% chance to vampire the damage when at 40% health as well. The critical chance will very heavily benefit Reptile while the enemy is poisoned.
  • Characters with fear such as Tremor/Black Dragon or Sonya Blade/Kombat Cup as doing so would likely trigger Reptile's poison.
