Interactions[]
Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Scorpion. Having a card that "counters" Scorpion does not mean it is always a good choice.
Good With[]
- Martial Artist Characters
- Kung Jin/Shaolin: Because Scorpion is a Martial Artist Character, Kung Jin and him benefit and gain extra bars of power closer to their X-Rays.
- Erron Black/Black Dragon, Raiden/Klassic & Liu Kang/Klassic: All of these diamond characters help Scorpion on Tag. Raiden drains the opponent's health and power, Liu Kang cripples on tag, and Erron Black assists Scorpion with his trick shots whenever he tags in. Plus, they all count as Martial Artist Characters, and they can get really close to their X-Rays.
- Bo' Rai Cho/Dragon Breath, Kung Jin/Prime, Shinnok/Vengeful & Kung Lao/Hat Trick: All of these characters can help Scorpion increase his critical chance, punishing his opponents with his critical damage. Plus, excluding Shinnok, Scorpion will get them closer to their X-Rays and in Kung Jin's case because he's a Silver character, Special 3.
- Bloody Tomahawk, Wrath Hammer & Kuai Liang's Specter: These equipments will help Scorpion get closer to X-Ray with the extra starting bars of Power.
- Goro/Tigrar Fury: An unorthodox choice as Goro is not a Martial Artist character, but because Scorpion can do Fire attacks, he can burn the opponent 25% of the time he tags in, thanks to Goro.
- Mileena/Ravenous: Both Scorpion and Mileena deal more DOT damage.
- Killer Jacket equipment: Scorpion can gain Shield when hit by lethal blows, making him take even less damage.
Good Against[]
- Critical Chance Characters, Luck and Curse effects: Scorpion is immune to critical hits.
- Netherrealm Characters: Scorpion takes less damage from Netherrealm characters.
Countered By[]
- Lethal Blows: While being immune to Critical Hits, Scorpion is still vulnerable to Lethal Blow attacks.
- Blaze's Life Force & Devastator equipments: These equipment either drain or steal power at the start of the match from Scorpion or his Martial Artist teammates.
- Cassie Cage/Undercover: Cassie Cage deals 20% more damage against Netherrealm Characters including Scorpion.
- Jade/MK11 & Raiden/Dark: All of these characters can heal from Scorpion's Fire and Bleed attacks, with Jade spreading this to MK11 teammates.
- Jacqui Briggs/Kosplay: Jacqui's Tremor, Ermac and Reptile variation has advantages over Netherrealm and Martial Artist characters, which include Scorpion.
- Johnny Cage/Strike Force: Johnny and his fellow Strike Force teammates deal 10-30% more damage against Netherrealm Characters, which include Scorpion.
- Kenshi/Ronin & Combat Shotgun: While Scorpion's Special Attack 2 is grapple, which does not trigger Kenshi's passive and is immune to critical hit, Kenshi still does 30% more damage against Scorpion, who is part Martial Artist. The Combat Shotgun is very deadly for Scorpion as it allows anyone especially Kenshi to deal more damage against Martial Artists like Scorpion.
- Kintaro/Shokan Warrior: Kintaro takes less damage from Scorpion's Fire attacks.
- Kitana/Day of the Dead, D'Vorah/Prime: Both characters are immune to Scorpion’s Bleed on Special 2.
- Liu Kang/Klassic: Liu Kang heals from Scorpion's Fire and gain critical attack boost from his Bleed.
- Mileena/Piercing: Mileena gains a bar of Power from Scorpion's Bleed on Special 2.
- Tremor/Aftershock: Tremor and his Martial Artist teammates gain unblockable chance against Netherrealm characters, which include Scorpion.
- Scorpion/Hellspawn : he can counter himself because he himself is a netherrealm class kard.
