Strategy[]
Inferno Scorpion's vast power lies in his ability to deal three times the basic damage on a simple tag-in. This huge damage buff lasts for only 6 seconds, so therefore players have to score as much hits before it dissipates. Due to his passive, he can be used even at lower levels provided he doesn't get knocked out first or loses his teammates.
Since his basic attack can be easily interrupted, unblockable chance on basic attack equipment are good choices for him.
Interactions[]
Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Scorpion. Having a card that "counters" Scorpion does not mean it is always a good choice.
Good With[]
- Scorpion/Ninjutsu & Sub-Zero/Cryomancer: 30% Attack and Health for both on the team.
- Kung Jin/Shaolin, Scorpion/Hellspawn, Wrath Hammer & Bloody Tomahawk: 1 Bar of Power starter for Scorpion, making it easier to compensate for the extra damage on Tag-In.
- Shinnok/Vengeful, Bo' Rai Cho/Dragon Breath, Kung Lao/Hat Trick, Kung Jin/Prime: Scorpion gains extra Critical Chance when teamed up with any of these characters, making him a very deadly critical assassin when he is equipped with his Shirai Ryu Kunai equipment.
- Block Breaker equipments: Scorpion can do his damage without having to worry about opponents blocking.
Good Against[]
- Jason Voorhees/Nightmare: Scorpion can deal high damage without using special attack.
- Characters who can inflict Fear: Constantly tagging will benefit Scorpion.
Countered By[]
- Sonya Blade/Kombat Cup & Johnny Cage/Kombat Cup: Both characters are immune to Stun and their Passives can prevent Scorpion from tagging in or out when they activate.
- Scorpion/Hellspawn & Jacqui Briggs/Cybernetic: Both take less damage from Netherrealm characters.
- Jacqui Briggs/Kosplay, Tremor/Aftershock, Johnny Cage/Strike Force & Kenshi/Ronin: Those characters have upper hand to Scorpion's class.
- Jade/MK11: She evade basic attack.
- Characters that can snare: Scorpion will be prevented from tagging in or out.
