Good With[]

  • Kotal Kahn/Dark Lord, Noob Saibot/MK11 & Kitana/Circle of Shadow: These 2 characters have the benefit of increasing Shinnok’s Attack by either stealing opponents or sending in Osh-Tekk warriors/shadows for knockouts.
  • Ermac/Pharaoh: With Ermac on his side, not only will Shinnok gain attack increases, but also Ermac’s shared critical chance.
  • Kenshi/Elder God: Because Shinnok is an Elder God, Kenshi gives him critical chance as well as immunity to critical hits.
  • Shinnok/Vengeful: Bone Shaper Shinnok gains increased critical chance when teamed up with Vengeful Shinnok.
  • Mileena/Vampiress: Shinnok deals more damage against bleeding opponents increasing the damage after additional enemy knockouts or resurrections thanks to Mileena.

Good Against[]

  • Resurrecting Characters like Quan Chi/Warlock teammates or Jason Voorhees/Slasher: Resurrected enemies increase Shinnok‘s Damage, which is further dangerous when he is teamed up with some of the above characters.
  • DOTs: Shinnok can take advantage of Dispel on Special 1 to nullify DOTs excluding Dark Magic.

Countered By[]

  • Kano/Commando: Kano is immune to Shinnok’s Blind on Special 2.
  • Scorpion/Hellspawn & Jacqui Briggs/Cybernetic: Both characters take less damage against Netherrealm characters including Shinnok. Additionally, Scorpion is immune to critical damage including Shinnok’s Curse on X-Ray.
  • Johnny Cage/Strike Force & Cassie Cage/Undercover: Both characters deal more damage against Netherrealm characters including Shinnok.
  • Tremor/Aftershock: Tremor grants Martial Artist teammates unblockable chance against Netherrealm characters including Shinnok.
  • Jacqui Briggs/Kosplay (Ermac & Tremor): Ermac Jacqui reflects Special Attacks from Netherrealm characters and Tremor Jacqui gains Lethal Blow Chance against Netherrealm characters including Shinnok.
  • Jade/Assassin & Jason Voorhees/Nightmare: Jade can evade Shinnok’s combo enders and special attacks, applying unblockable crippling attacks on Shinnok, while Jason can evade special attacks.
  • Quan Chi/Circle of Shadow: Quan Chi reflects the Special Attack damage.
