Strategy

Kold Sonya Blade (formerly Kold War Sonya Blade) has one of the best defensive passive. Being able to counter special attack and X-Ray/Fatal Blow, she is a huge asset to the Kold War team.

Interactions

Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Sonya Blade. Having a card that "counters" Sonya Blade does not mean it is always a good choice.

Good With

• Kold War characters.
• Jacqui Briggs/High Tech: Sonya receives increased power generation from Jacqui, making Sonya easier to gain power to do special attack 2 if her Ice Armor is destroyed.
• Special attack power cost reduction equipments such as Sapphire Dagger, Soul Medallion and Moloch's Ball and Chain: Sonya can use her special attack 2 frequently to regain Ice Armor if it is destroyed.

Good Against

• Ermac/Master of Souls, Kung Lao/Circle of Shadow, Kenshi/Balanced, Scorpion/Hellspawn, Kung Jin/Shaolin, Kitana/Mournful, Rain/Klassic, as well as Equipments such as Wrath Hammer and Bloody Tomahawk: Their starting power is much less effective against her Ice Armor.
• Day of the Dead Characters.

Countered By

• Ronin Characters. Especially Takeda.
• Characters with powerful basic attacks or DOT: They can deal huge damage without using special attacks.
• Erron Black/Day of the Dead, Kung Lao/Circle of Shadow, maxed Moloch's Ball and Chain and Dynasty Mask of Madness equipments: These characters and equipments have chance to use special attacks without wasting power.
• Erron Black/Gunslinger: Erron Black deals more damage against Spec Ops characters, including Sonya.
• Jax Briggs/Heavy Weapons, Sonya Blade/Klassic and Tanya/Kobu Jutsu: These characters can apply Shield Break to whole enemy team.
• Dynasty Parade Uniform, Jinsei Hat and Wrestling Star's Jaxophone equipments: These equipments can apply Shield Break without using special attack.
• Varmint's Ace In The Hole equipment: Same as above, but more effective, as this equipment can apply Shield Break on tag-in.
