Strategy[]

He is thought to be a support character for the team rather an attacker. When fighting, a defensive gameplay is advised to take advantage of his passive and because his basic attacks are a bit unsafe. He acts like a support all the time due to the big bonuses he gives to the other Kombat Kids, being them the main attackers and protagonists of the matches. To achieve the best result possible, it's ideal to pair Takeda with kombat kids that actually have stat boosts for the same classes Takeda or his teammates are. When using Takeda as an attacker, it's advised to block every basic attack to trigger his counter attack which also helps him to regenerate power, and wait until his Special Attack 2 which is unblockable and has a very high damage.

Interactions[]

Please note that battles are highly situational: this section only mentions cards that have mechanics that, for any reason, are particularly effective with/against, or particularly ineffective against Takeda. Having a card that "counters" Takeda does not mean it is always a good choice.

Good with[]

Good Against[]

  • Jade/Assassin. One must not counter Jade by doing combo enders and Specials, but blocking and hitting without swiping; that's Takeda's strongest point since by blocking he possibly gets a counter attack that Jade can't evade.
  • Jade/MK11. Since this Jade can evade basic attacks, by blocking Takeda can achieve his counter attack and do damage, and at the same time get enough power for SP2.

Countered by[]

  • Cassie Cage/Strike Force. She can slow down and remove crits and lethal damage, limiting the already unsafe basic attacks of Takeda, or steal the Power brought by Kung Jin/Shaolin if paired with him.
  • Mileena/Ravenous. Her fast attacks and ability to do DOTs and Stun can also limit the attack chance of Takeda.
  • Cassie Cage/Covert Ops: She can her Spec Ops teammates can perform unblockable attacks, including basic attacks.
